Men

We recommend Monthly Self Exams for Men:


Regular self examinations are an important part of staying healthy.  We recommend that you pick a day each month and spend an extra bit of time after a shower to perform these vital self examinations.  They may save your life!

Blood Pressure screening every year

High blood pressure can cause permanent damage to many of your organs.

Blood and Urine testing every three years

Screens for disease and illness such as diabetes, kidney disease, high cholesterol) before you develop symptoms.

TB Skin Test every 5 years

Especially important if you are at risk for exposure due to your occupation or location.

EKG- baseline at 30 years old

This test can catch heart abnormalities.

Tetanus booster every 10 years

This can prevent lockjaw, a paralyzing illness that is easily prevented.

Rectal exam every year

Screens for lower rectal problems, colon cancer, prostate cancer, hemorrhoids.

Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)

If you are sexually active, you may be at risk for STIs.  You should consider being tested for chlamydia, HIV, Syphilis.

Checks for microscopic blood in the stool that can be an indicator of colon cancer or polyps.

Chest Xray

Discuss with your provider especially if you ever smoked and over 45.

If you have low sex drive (libido), erectile dysfunction, depression, or fatigue.  Answer a simple questionnaire and get a simple blood test.

Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)

If you are sexually active, you may be at risk for STIs.  You should consider being tested for chlamydia, HIV, Syphilis.
